Ode to Timbo
Little Timbo
you were actually quite large
But because you were so sweet
You seemed so small
I didn’t choose your name
let’s get that out of the way
Shouting it made me feel weird
Because I think you’re really Archie, Teddie or Ben
London wasn’t for you
too noisy, too rushy and not enough space to chase
You liked to run and play, and find random things
To fit in your big squishy mouth
Your snout was indeed supreme
dribbling, snuffling and licking us awake
With velvet ears and knowing eyes
Never too far away
But now you have gone
to a place less exciting, more serene
From where you will find peace
Yet you leave us with a dog shaped hole
That we never can replace.
